Staff was nice, rooms were clean and let’s say charming. Mimi has excellent food and the breakfast was great. The location is awesome (although no views from most of the property). Ravello is a difficult place to find affordable accommodations so we did not hold that against the property which was on the more affordable end when compared to others.
Could be better
Staff would often take smoke breaks right outside our room. With a baby, this was quite an annoyance and essentially made sitting on the nice outdoor patio space not an option. We understand smoking culture is a bit different in Europe, but we don’t think smoking by guest rooms with children and babies is appropriate. We only stayed a few nights so didn’t bother asking them to stop. The rooms are split on two different sides of the property. You cannot access one side from the other. We travelled with our extended family and booked 3 rooms. Two were on one side and one was on the other, which made coordination and things like babysitting with grandparents unnecessarily difficult. Potential bookers should also know that the rooms are essentially either in the outdoor eating area on one side or the private terrace (which you should expect to hold loud events) on the other, which is also where the staff lockers are kept. This did not bother us, but the noise and lack of perceived privacy could be an annoyance for others. Just a note in case you don’t realize when reviewing the listing that the rooms do not include some things that you may be accustomed to, including kettle/coffee maker. Only mention those specifically because good coffee is not easy to find early in the morning in Ravello and breakfast isn’t served until 8:30 at the B&B.
